Dangers & Concerns of Piercings

SO YOU WANT A PIERCING, EH?

Piercings are a fun way to express your inner self! There are several different piercings ranging from Tragus piercings to cute navel piercings. Piercing is considered permanent on the body. You may be able to take the jewelry out, but you may always have a scar or a marking at the place that was pierced. (Please read the dangers of Piercing for more information.) Before you get a piercing, make sure it is what you want and not want others want you to get. Choosing a piercing is a personal preference. If you would like more information about a piercing we welcome you to come in to any Metals Edge Expo and discuss it with a staff member. We value you as a client and we want you to be happy with the piercing of your choosing.

HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE?

    PARENTS & MINORS

You must be 18 years of age in the State of Missouri in order to receive a Tattoo or Piercing UNLESS you are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian that can give verbal and written consent and provide proof that they are in fact your legal parent or legal guardian. In order to show proof, the following documentation is required:

TO PROVIDE PROOF – WE WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING

1) A birth certificate of the minor along with a photo ID to match that birth certificate. If the minor does not have a photo ID then a document from the school with the child’s name and address can be accepted so long as it is on a school letterhead. (example: grade card)

2) If a parent is giving consent then we will need a photo ID that is going to match the birth certificate of the minor child and both addresses of the minor child and the parent or legal guardian must be match. (ADDRESSES MUST MATCH TO SHOW PROOF THAT THE PARENT OR LEGAL GUARDIAN RESIDE TOGETHER). If you are a legal guardian, you must provide court documents that have been notarized or signed by a judge and have the original “SEAL” on them.

Please note: We will not do any private tattoos or piercings on minors. There are certain private piercings that are too dangerous to perform and we do not do them at our shop. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Please ask the piercer about private piercings if you are interested. This is our policy as a licensed establishment. There will be no exceptions.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT WE ARE A LICENSED EST. AND THESE ARE THE REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH. IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION, WE WILL BE UNABLE TO PROVIDE THE SERVICE TO YOU.
